A Sneak-Peak of my trip...

I will be making a video, posting pictures, and writing a letter chronicling my trip, but that may take a while, so here is a sneak peak of what is to come. :)

I'm Back...

And...I am back, safe and sound in the great U.S.A. I had an incredible trip to Costa Rica and the Lord definitely taught me many things while there. I will be writing a post-trip letter, chronicling my trip in its entirety and sending it out to all my prayer and financial supporters. Thank you all for your prayers and your support! Without it, I wouldn't have been able to go on this incredible mission trip. Can't wait to share all my experiences and lessons!

One Month Countdown...

Today begins the one month countdown to Costa Rica. I wish July 9th would hurry up and get here. I am thoroughly excited.  Seeing the pictures my brother has taken in Uganda makes me long to meet the children of Costa Rica and be blessed by my time spent with them. As my brother rather profoundly questioned, "Am I supposed to change them or be changed myself?" I have a feeling the children of Costa Rica will change me as much as or even more so than I change them.

During the time leading up to this trip, God has taught me several truths, but the one that has stuck out the most is  His overwhelming provision not just for my trip, but for my brother's mission trip to Uganda, Africa and my best friend's team trip to Malawi, Africa. God's on a roll.

This experience has also reminded me of the power and importance of prayer. Prayer has been the guiding light throughout the last few months, from the beginning decision, through fundraising, and eventually safety and guidance while in Costa Rica.

Completely seeking His will has been the theme of my life. I don't want to do anything outside of the will of God, for the will of God is perfect and unchanging. What a comforting truth!

Throughout out this next month, I will try my best to update this blog more often, letting you know how my preparations are coming and anything else the Lord is teaching me.

Thanks for your prayers and support! We couldn't do this without you!

"Wait and Watch..."

I am overwhelmed at God's goodness to my family and the precious family and friends who love me and are willing to give of their resources to support me. Wow! Through God's grace and provision, the support still needed: $0. Zip. Zilch. None. Praise God!

In looking back over the past couple of weeks, I am flabbergasted at the rate at which the money was raised. It  truly is the work of God. When my parents and I started praying about this mission trip, seeking to know the Lord's will for my life, I was skeptical and unsure of how such a large amount of money could be raised in such a short time. Even after we felt that this was what God had planned for me, doubt still lingered in my mind. Now, however, I see I had nothing to worry about and shouldn't have worried to begin with. After all, God has been in this business of provision for a while and He kept telling me, "I got this. Wait and watch Me do great things." And, He did!

It has been an amazing experience! My excitement grows every day in anticipation of my mission trip to Costa Rica. Thank you all for your loving support and constant encouragement. I am so blessed to have such loving, God-fearing family and friends who are examples to me of trust, patience, obedience, and love. God is Good!

"Trust me..."

David could not have been more right when he said in the Psalms, "Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He will do it." I have witnessed the manifestation of this promise in my life this past week. I still have money to raise in order to meet my quota, but I am confident the rest will come in due time.

God has once again proven Himself faithful to meet the needs of His children. It has been fun to watch the Lord provide. Through this experience, I am learning to completely relinquish control of my life to Him, because He can and will do a much better job.

Thank you all for your loving support and constant encouragement. I couldn't do this without you!
